Words of Scripture: Based on Isaiah 60

Leader: Arise, Shine, for your lights has come;
People: And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
Leader: Lift up your eyes and look around,
People: Then you shall see and be radiant,
Leader: Your heart shall thrill and rejoice,
People: The glory of God shall be our strength, our hope and our salvation!

Song: Sweet By and By,   pg. 553

Prayer of Confession: Father, sometimes it feels like we are coming unraveled.  We feel pulled apart from every angle, because we choose our way rather than yours.  We fixed our eyes on this world when we should lift our eyes to you.  Forgive us God.  Help us learn to be a people who ask and who listen to You.  Help us to be an obedient people.  Until you come Jesus, help us to be shaped by an eager expectation that your return is drawing closer.  May that good news cause us to live each day for you and for the glory of your name, in Christ's name we pray, Amen.

Assurance of Pardon: God does not remember our sins, but does remember His promises.  God does not shame us, but lifts us to new life.  Lead us in your hope, God, and teach us your love.  You are the God of our days, we wait for you to come to us.  Amen.
