Prelude: Dawn Taylor

Opening Song: Open the Eyes of My Heart, on screen

Words of Scripture:  Based on Psalm 23

Leader: We rejoice in the One who leads us beside still waters and gives us refreshment of soul.
People: Christ our Shepherd shows us the way we should go,
Leader: Though all manner of evil befalls us, we will not be afraid, for our Great Shepherd is with us.
People: And we shall be with him forever and ever Amen!

Song: He Lives,   pg. 220

Prayer of Confession:  Lord, you know there are so many things in this life that seek our attention. It is easy to fix our eyes on bills, burdens, and the never ending to do lists. Life can feel like a race, and some days Father, it feels like we are falling behind. Forgive us Lord for fixing our eyes on everything but You. Forgive us for dealing with burdens by turning to sin, rather than by resting in Your grace. Help us to lay aside the weights you have not asked us to carry. Remove all the sins that clutter our lives. Give us endurance so that we will not grow weary or lose heart, for the sake of your glorious name we pray, Amen.

Assurance of Pardon: Hear the Good News of the Gospel; God has given a new heart and a new spirit through Christ Jesus. In Him the hardest heart can become the softest clay.
